3 Great Guest Houses

along the Keio Inokashira Line ♪

Within Minutes from Shibuya and Kichijoji

Recently more and more people are coming to Japan
for a variety of reasons like work-related trips and studying abroad.
Regardless of how long you are staying,
be it a couple of weeks or years,
finding a place to live in Tokyo can be super tough, not to mention expensive.
There are dorms but they have curfew,
apartments can be expensive and
some don't even allow foreigners to live there
(we know...crazy isn't it).
That's why JAPANKURU likes introducing share houses or guesthouses.
We went to 3 nice share houses along the Keio Inokashira Line,
which connects you to Shibuya and Kichijoji

It's said that the Keio Inokashira Line is one of the most popular lines to live on.
Primarily because it goes through cool areas
Kichijoji (吉祥寺), Shimokitazawa (下北沢), and Shibuya (渋谷).

The 3 share houses we are going to introduce are at
Mitakadai (三鷹台), Fujimigaoka (富士見ヶ丘), and Hamadayama (浜田山).

🏠MITAKADAI - FineMaison三鷹台🏠

The share house company FineSelect has over 90 guesthouses along Tokyo.
Normally their share houses are female-only,
but at FineMaison Mitakadai any person can stay!
It is surprisingly something really rare for Tokyo.

Public Space
There's a really nice and roomy living room with bar
on the first floor that is open to anyone to use as they wish.

With an open set up,
the kitchen and dining area is in the back.
We don't think we've ever seen such a nice kitchen
at a guesthouse here in Tokyo.
We wished it was our own home! haha

Household appliances such as microwaves, microwave ovens, rice cookers, and washing machines are absolutely available for everyone.
The supervisor periodically checks the appliances to
make sure everything is running a-okay!
There's also free laundry detergent available in the laundry room.

Room Introduction~☆彡

This is one of the rooms on the second floor which is the females-only floor.

The beds, mattresses, desks, chairs,
and refrigerators are all prepared for everyone.
So there aren't really any big expenses for you to worry about
and allows you to decorate the room up and make it yours

A lot of share houses have old Japanese cabinet type of closets
which is nice to store luggage in but not clothes.
Here is your typical hanger closet
but still has enough room to store items on the floor/below.

🏠FUJIMIGAOKA - MINT富士見ヶ丘🏠

This next house is pretty different from the first
because it's smaller and females-only.
However, where it lacks in space it makes up for in style

This house is smaller (total of 14 rooms) because it's a newly renovated house,
but we thought that made it more welcoming and easy to live in.

Shared space on the 2nd floor
They created a shared space on the 2nd floor
where we can cook, eat, watch TV, etc.
The floor has a heater (床暖房; yuka danbo) so winter is really nice!

What's nice about the kitchen is that the cabinets are full of all kinds of
pots, pans, and cutlery for the residents to use!

Room Introduction~☆彡

The room layout of each room is a bit different at MINT Fujimigaoka,
but they're all equipped with the same things;
a desk and chair, wardrobe, bed, and washing stand!

This is another room.
We wanted to show everyone
just so people could get an idea of the different layouts.
If you come early though you are more likely to have a better choice of room type.

Nearby Spots~☆彡

On the way from the station to the house,
you'll pass a 24-hour supermarket SEIYU.
SEIYU does a partnership with Walmart,
so in that way, it's basically the Walmart of Japan!

🏠MINT Fujimigaoka (MINT富士見ヶ丘)
8 min walk from Fujimigaoka Station (富士見ヶ丘駅)

🏠HAMADA YAMA - Belle Philia結 (Yui)🏠

Belle Philia has 12 rooms and similar to MINT Fujimigaoka
in the sense that it is females-only.
It's located at Hamadayama Station though,
which is a really fun, high-class, and convenient place to live.

This guest house felt like it was an actual house.
The stylish and warm living really fit well with the Hamadayama image.

Just your basic, nice kitchen! 😊

We liked how the set up of the rooms were
to where there was plenty of center space.

  1. Essential Oil Packaging Boxes are made with precious herbs and organic materials that are extremely expensive and rare to find. As a result, the oil bottles are visible for every packaging manufacturer.
