From Shinjuku, you can arrive at Hakone Yumoto Station directly by Odakyu Express! Just 85 minutes ~ 
A variety of buses are available at the station, too.

There are two ways to buy a ticker for the Odakyu Limited Express "Romancecar"

In general, we will advise you to take the train from Shinjuku from 8:00 to 10:00  the romantic express, arriving at Hakone Yumoto,
start sightseeing in Hakone and staying the night at a hot springs ryokan. 
On the next day, enjoying the delicious breakfast and doing the rest of the sightseeing, such as the theme park of hot springs.
Hakone Kowakien Hotel Yunessun. 
Then, head back to Shinjuku.

There are 17 hot springs sources;

1.  Hakone Shrine (箱根神社)

A red torii is right on the shore of Lake Ashi.
Green, red, and blue.

Yes! This is the home of Hakone Shrine, Hakone's oldest shrine built in 757!

2. Ancient Cedar Avenue (箱根旧街道杉並木)
Just 1 minute away from Hakone Shrine to view Mount Fuji.
About 500 meters long with a number of tall firs on both sides,
what a good place for walking.
While enjoying your time surrounded by the greenery, it is on the way to Onshihakone Park.

3.  Hakone Ropeway (箱根ロープウェイ)

The whole route of the Hakone Ropeway is about 2516.20m
This ropeway can move about 5 meters in a minute. 
During business hours, 
it carries about 1440 people to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the big valley!


When the weather is good,  you can see the beautiful Mount Fuji
from the ropeway.
And you know what?
It has the most number of passengers in a year among the cable car/ropeway in the world.

4. Owakudani Kurotamago Kan (大涌谷くろたまご館)
Speaking of Hakone, 
it is the Kuro Tamago (freshly boiled black eggs)

A local specialty of eggs turn black and smell slightly sulphuric after boiling in the hot springs. 
Saying that eating one can extend your life for seven years. 


Now, you can take Hakone Ropeway to Owakudani Station. 
As the volcanic activity is getting uncertain recently, 
another route is being prohibited. 
So you can only buy the black eggs here!

5. Shopping Street in front of Hakone Yumoto Station 
Always crowded with visitors!

Here, you can buy a variety of local products and special products, as well as interesting snacks.
The most popular specialty in this shopping street is Kamaboko かまぼこ (steamed white fish paste) and onsen-manju (hot spring bun filled with red-bean paste).

Also, if you like flower viewing,
 we recommended you to visit there in June and early July for hydrangea.
